Metro Neomatik Update

The NOMOS Metro Neomatik 41 Update 1165 debuted in 2021 as the date-equipped version of the Metro with the neomatik Update display. Designed by Mark Braun, it retains the collection’s narrow bezel, wire-style lugs, domed sapphire crystal, and diamond-knurled crown, while increasing the case diameter to 40.5mm. The stainless steel case measures 40.5mm in diameter, 9.1mm in height, and 47.5mm from lug to lug. It has a sapphire crystal case back and is rated to 5 atm. Despite the larger case size and added date display, the watch remains relatively thin due to the DUW 6101 automatic calibre. The galvanized white silver-plated dial has indexes at 3, 9, and 12 o’clock, with oxidized black hands. The date is shown by NOMOS’ ring date system, with two neon orange markers framing the current date around the edge of the dial. This keeps the date indication integrated into the dial architecture without using a conventional date window. The DUW 6101 is an automatic in-house calibre with a patented date mechanism. It measures 15 ½ lignes in diameter and 3.6mm in height, with 42 jewels and a power reserve of up to 42 hours. The date can be adjusted quickly in both directions. The watch is supplied on a dark gray woven textile strap with quick-change spring bars, a 20mm lug width, and a rounded stainless steel winged clasp.
