Metro 38 Datum

The NOMOS Metro 38 date 1102 was introduced in 2015 as a larger date-equipped version of the Metro, bringing the collection’s pared-back Mark Braun design to a 38.5mm case while omitting the power reserve display found on ref. 1101. Its stainless steel case measures 38.5mm in diameter, 7.8mm in height, and 45.3mm lug to lug. It is fitted with domed sapphire crystal front and back and is water-resistant to 5 atm; earlier versions were rated to 3 atm. The rounded profile, slim bezel, wire-style lugs, and beaded crown remain distinctive elements of the Metro design. The dial is galvanized and white silver-plated, with Metro’s characteristic fine dot minute markers and blue-gray accents at 3, 9, and 12 o’clock. A large date is positioned at 6 o’clock, while the main hands are oxidized black and the small-seconds hand is red. Inside is the NOMOS DUW 4601, a hand-wound in-house movement with 23 jewels and a power reserve of up to 52 hours. Earlier versions of this reference were powered by the DUW 4101. The current caliber retains the large-date layout while incorporating the NOMOS swing system. This reference is fitted on a black Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan strap with quick-change spring bars and a 19mm lug width.
