Metro 38 Silver

The NOMOS Metro 38 1108 was introduced in 2017 as a larger, more pared-back version of the Metro, arguably following the success of the 2016 Hodinkee limited edition. Its defining feature within the Metro line was the simplified dial layout, omitting indications such as the date and power reserve found on other references. Its stainless steel case measures 38.5mm in diameter, 7.8mm in height, and 45.3mm lug to lug. It is fitted with domed sapphire crystal front and back and is water-resistant to 5 atm; earlier versions were rated to 3 atm. The rounded case profile, slender bezel, and angled wire-style lugs remain central to the Metro design. The dial is galvanized and white silver-plated, with Metro’s characteristic fine dot minute markers and blue accents at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock. The main hands are oxidized black, and the small-seconds hand is red. Inside is the NOMOS DUW 4001, a hand-wound in-house movement measuring 23.3mm in diameter and 2.6mm in height, with 17 jewels and a power reserve of up to 53 hours. Earlier versions of this reference were powered by the Alpha movement. This reference is fitted on a black Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan strap with quick-change spring bars and a 19mm lug width.
