Nomos Glashütte caliber DUW 4001

Ref. DUW 4001

The NOMOS DUW 4001 is a manually wound manufacture movement developed and produced in Glashütte. The calibre measures 23.3 mm in diameter (10½ lignes) and has a height of 2.6 mm. It is equipped with 17 jewels and delivers a power reserve of approximately 53 hours. The movement incorporates a hacking seconds mechanism, allowing the seconds hand to be stopped for precise time setting. Architecturally, DUW 4001 follows traditional Glashütte construction principles, including a three-quarter plate and a Glashütte stopwork mechanism. Regulation is handled via the proprietary DUW regulating system, paired with the in-house NOMOS Swing System escapement. The movement is adjusted in six positions. Finishing includes rhodium-plated surfaces with Glashütte ribbing and NOMOS perlage, heat-blued screws, and sunburst finishing on the ratchet and crown wheels. DUW 4001 serves as the base calibre for several two- and three-hand models within the Tangente, Orion, Ludwig, Tetra, and Club collections
