Metro Date Power Reserve

Ref. 1101

The NOMOS Metro date power reserve 1101 debuted in 2014 as a hand-wound Metro combining two of NOMOS’ signature complications, the large date and power reserve indicator, within the collection’s softer, wire-lug case design by Mark Braun. Its stainless steel case measures 37.0mm in diameter, 7.7mm in height, and 43.6mm lug to lug. It is fitted with domed sapphire crystal front and back and is water-resistant to 5 atm; earlier versions were rated to 3 atm. The rounded case profile and angled wire-style lugs distinguish it clearly from NOMOS’ more architectural lines. The dial is galvanized and white silver-plated, with Metro’s characteristic mix of fine dot minute markers, slender numerals, and tapered hands. A large date is positioned at 6 o’clock, while the power reserve display adds color through mint and red accents. The main hands are oxidized black, and the small-seconds hand is red. Inside is the NOMOS DUW 4401, a hand-wound in-house movement measuring 32.1mm in diameter and 2.8mm in height, with 23 jewels and a power reserve of up to 42 hours. It incorporates NOMOS’ patented large-date system and power reserve display, and was the first caliber to use the NOMOS swing system. This reference is fitted on a black Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan strap with quick-change spring bars and an 18mm lug width.
