Lux Zobel

Ref. 942

The NOMOS Lux Zobel 942 was introduced in 2014 as one of the smaller rose gold models in the Lux collection. This reference combines a tonneau-shaped 18k rose gold case with a white silver-plated dial and aubergine printing. It belongs to NOMOS’ Atelier line and is powered by the manually wound DUW 2002, a shaped movement developed specifically for the Lux case architecture. The rose gold case measures 34.0mm by 38.5mm, with a height of 9.0mm and a lug-to-lug length of 46.1mm. It is fitted with sapphire crystal glass on the front and a sapphire crystal case back. Water resistance is rated at 3 atm, making the watch splash-proof. The tonneau case gives the Lux collection a distinct position within the NOMOS catalogue, with a softly rectangular form and a crown executed in matching 18k rose gold. The dial is galvanized and white silver-plated, with aubergine printing that defines the Zobel version within the smaller Lux range. Its two-handed layout keeps the display visually restrained, while the gold hands match the case material. Compared with the Hermelin and Zikade versions, this reference uses a darker dial accent, creating a stronger contrast against the silver-plated base while retaining the same rose gold case and movement configuration. Inside is the NOMOS DUW 2002, a manually wound movement shaped to fit the tonneau case. It measures 3.6mm in height and 32.6mm by 22.6mm, with 23 jewels and a power reserve of up to 84 hours. The movement features fine sunburst polishing, screwed gold chatons, hand-bevelled and polished edges, swan-neck fine adjustment, and a hand-engraved balance cock. The watch is fitted to a dark brown cushioned remborde Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan strap with a 17mm lug width.
