Lux Hermelin
Ref. 940
The NOMOS Lux Hermelin 940 was introduced in 2014 as one of the smaller rose gold models in the Lux collection. This reference uses a tonneau-shaped 18k rose gold case measuring 34.0mm by 38.5mm, paired with a white silver-plated dial with grey printing and gold hands. It belongs to NOMOS’ Atelier line and is powered by the manually wound DUW 2002, developed specifically for the Lux family. The rose gold case measures 9.0mm in height and 46.1mm from lug to lug. It is fitted with sapphire crystal glass on the front and a sapphire crystal case back, allowing a view of the tonneau-shaped movement. Water resistance is rated at 3 atm, making the watch splash-proof. The case shape distinguishes Lux from the round NOMOS models, with a softer rectangular form and a crown executed in matching 18k rose gold. The dial is galvanized and white silver-plated, with grey printing and a restrained two-handed display. Gold hands match the case material, while the absence of a seconds display keeps the dial visually open. The Hermelin version is defined by this combination of rose gold, cream-toned silver plating, and grey dial elements, giving it a lighter and more tonal appearance than the more strongly coloured Lux variants. Inside is the NOMOS DUW 2002, a manually wound movement developed for the Lux collection and shaped to match the tonneau case. It measures 3.6mm in height and 32.6mm by 22.6mm, with 23 jewels and a power reserve of up to 84 hours. The movement includes sunburst polishing, gold chatons, hand-bevelled edges, swan-neck fine adjustment, and a hand-engraved balance cock. The watch is fitted to a dark brown remborde Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan strap with cushioning and a 17mm lug width.
