Ludwig Japan
Ref. 205.S5
The NOMOS Ludwig 205.S5 debuted in 2026 as a limited edition produced exclusively for the Japanese market. The watch is housed in a stainless steel case measuring 35.0 mm in diameter and 6.3 mm in height, with a lug-to-lug length of 45.0 mm. A sapphire crystal protects the dial, while a sapphire display back provides visibility of the movement. Water resistance is rated to 5 atm. The dial is finished in a white, enamel-like galvanised silver surface. Indigo-coloured Roman numerals are paired with a traditional railway minute track incorporating diamond-shaped markers. Heat-blued feuille-style hands indicate hours, minutes, and seconds. The overall layout follows the classical Ludwig design language, with a focus on symmetrical proportions and restrained detailing. Powering the watch is the NOMOS manufacture calibre DUW 4001, a manually wound movement measuring 2.6 mm in height and 23.3 mm in diameter (10½ lignes). The movement is equipped with 17 jewels, operates with a hacking seconds mechanism, and provides a power reserve of approximately 53 hours. It features Glashütte-style construction elements, including a three-quarter plate, and incorporates the in-house NOMOS Swing System escapement. The watch is fitted with a brown Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan leather strap secured via an 18 mm lug width. Production is limited to 70 individually numbered pieces, as indicated by the limitation engraving on the case back.
