Ludwig 33 Duo Enamel White / Open Case Back

Reference 249 is the sapphire-back version of the NOMOS Ludwig 33 Duo Enamel White, a compact two-hand Ludwig in stainless steel. It uses the collection’s Roman numerals and railroad minute track on NOMOS’ enamel white dial execution, which refers to a glossy white finish rather than fired enamel. The absence of a small seconds display gives this Duo reference a more reduced layout than the standard hand-wound Ludwig. The case measures 32.8mm in diameter, 6.5mm in height, and 42.2mm from lug to lug. It has a sapphire crystal front and a sapphire crystal case back, distinguishing it from the otherwise closely related closed-back version. The case follows the Ludwig format with a slender bezel, rounded profile, and slightly curved lugs. Water resistance is rated to 3 atm. The glossy white dial has black Roman numerals, a fine railroad minute track, and tempered blue hands. The display is limited to central hours and minutes, without a date or subsidiary seconds indication. This configuration is specific to the Duo versions within the smaller Ludwig format. Power comes from the NOMOS Alpha.2, a manually wound in-house calibre based on the Alpha movement and adapted for smaller two-hand models. It measures 10 ½ lignes in diameter and 2.6mm in height, with 17 jewels and a power reserve of up to 43 hours. The watch is supplied on a brown Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan strap with a 17mm lug width.
