Zürich Weltzeit

The NOMOS Zürich Worldtimer 805 debuted in 2011 as the world-time version of the Zürich collection. Earlier versions of this reference used the automatic Xi movement, without the NOMOS swing system, while the current specification lists the DUW 5201. The watch retains its 39.9mm stainless steel case, white world-time dial, airport-code city display, 24-hour indication, and pusher-operated time-zone adjustment. The stainless steel case measures 39.9mm in diameter, 10.9mm in height, and 49.4mm from lug to lug. It is fixed with six screws and fitted with a sapphire crystal case back, while the front uses a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. Current water resistance is rated at 5 atm, whereas earlier versions of this reference were rated to 30 meters. The case is distinguished by its inward-curving lugs and the small separation between the lugs and bezel, a characteristic detail of the Zürich design. The galvanized white dial combines a world-time display with a 24-hour indication. City names are shown through the outer city ring, allowing the selected time zone to be adjusted by pusher, while the central hands display the local time. The rhodium-plated hands are faceted, adding sharper reflective surfaces to an otherwise restrained dial architecture. The layout keeps the complication readable by separating the city indication, 24-hour display, and main time display into distinct visual zones. Inside is the NOMOS DUW 5201, an in-house automatic movement with world-time and 24-hour displays, now equipped with the NOMOS swing system. It measures 5.7mm in height, has a diameter of 31.0mm, and offers a power reserve of up to 42 hours. The movement is visible through the sapphire crystal case back. The watch is fitted to a black Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan strap with a 20mm lug width.
