Zürich Datum
Ref. 802
The NOMOS Zürich date 802 debuted in as the date-equipped version of the automatic Zürich, originally powered by the Zeta movement. The reference is now specified with the DUW 5101 calibre, while its water-resistance rating has changed from the earlier 30m specification to the current 5 atm. It combines the 39.8mm stainless steel Zürich case with a white silver-plated dial, applied rhodium-plated indexes, faceted hands, a date display, and a sapphire crystal case back. The case measures 39.8mm in diameter, 9.7mm in height, and 49.4mm from lug to lug. It is fixed with six screws and fitted with domed sapphire crystal glass on the front and a sapphire crystal case back. Its architecture follows the more sculptural Zürich design, with a slender bezel, inward-curving lugs, a visible separation between lug and bezel, and a tapered case flank leading toward the crown. The galvanized white silver-plated dial uses applied rhodium-plated indexes and faceted rhodium-plated hands. Compared with the simpler time-only Zürich, the date version adds a date display while preserving the restrained dial layout and formal surface treatment of the collection. The applied indexes and polished hand facets give the dial more depth than the printed layouts used on many other NOMOS models. Inside is the NOMOS DUW 5101, an in-house automatic movement with a date mechanism. It measures 4.3mm in height, has a diameter of 31.0mm, and offers a power reserve of up to 42 hours. The movement is visible through the sapphire crystal case back. The watch is fitted to a black Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan strap with a 20mm lug width.
