Tangomat GMT

Ref. 635

The NOMOS Tangomat GMT 635 debuted in 2011 as the travel-time version of the Tangomat, originally powered by the automatic caliber Xi and later updated to DUW 5201. It retains the 40mm stainless steel Tangomat case, white silver-plated dial, airport-code city display, and 24-hour indication. The result is a Tangomat with a more complex dial architecture, built around quick adjustment of the selected time zone by pusher. The stainless steel case measures 40.0mm in diameter, 10.9mm in height, and 50.5mm from lug to lug. It is fixed with six screws and fitted with a sapphire crystal case back, while the front uses domed sapphire crystal glass. Water resistance is rated at 3 atm, making the watch splash-proof. Compared with the Tangente, the Tangomat case has a taller and more substantial profile, with stronger lugs and the added depth required by the automatic complication. The galvanized white silver-plated dial follows the Tangente-derived visual language, with black Arabic numerals, a railway minute track, and tempered blue steel hands. An aperture displays the selected time zone by airport code, while the 24-hour indication adds day-night orientation for the travel-time display. The additional information is integrated without abandoning the strict, linear dial structure associated with the Tangomat family. Inside is the NOMOS DUW 5201, an in-house automatic movement that supersedes the Xi caliber used in the first version of this reference. It measures 5.7mm in height, has a diameter of 31.0mm, and offers a power reserve of up to 42 hours. The movement is visible through the sapphire crystal case back. The watch is fitted to a black Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan strap with a 20mm lug width.
