Tudor caliber MT5450-U

Ref. MT5450-U

The Tudor Manufacture Calibre MT5450-U is a self-winding mechanical movement with 34 jewels, combining central jumping hours, a 24-hour hand, central minutes and seconds, and an instantaneous date at 3 o’clock. The date is synchronised to the local jumping hour hand and operates without a non-correction range, reflecting the calibre’s integrated GMT architecture rather than an added module. It uses a bidirectional rotor system and delivers a METAS-certified 65-hour power reserve. The regulating organ is built around a variable inertia balance with micro-adjustment screws and a non-magnetic silicon balance spring, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, or 4Hz. The movement also incorporates a stop-seconds function for precise time setting. The MT5450-U is both COSC-certified and certified as a Master Chronometer by METAS. In this specification, Master Chronometer certification confirms daily precision within 0/+5 seconds, resistance to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss, and verification of the stated power reserve and water resistance on the fully assembled watch. Its construction follows Tudor’s current Manufacture calibre architecture, with an openworked tungsten monobloc rotor featuring radial laser decoration and sand-blasted details, while the bridges and mainplate combine sand-blasted, polished, and laser-finished surfaces. The overall layout places emphasis on stability, magnetic resistance, and the integration of the GMT function within the base movement itself.
