Tudor caliber MT5400

Ref. MT5400

The TUDOR Manufacture Calibre MT5400 is a self-winding mechanical movement displaying central hours, minutes, and seconds, with stop-seconds for precise time setting. In the Black Bay 54, it serves as the model’s time-only manufacture calibre and is chronometer-certified by COSC. Its construction includes a bidirectional rotor system, a variable inertia balance held under a traversing bridge with two-point anchoring, and a non-magnetic silicon balance spring. The movement measures 30.3 mm in diameter and 5 mm in thickness. It operates at 28,800 beats per hour, uses 27 jewels, and offers a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. Its finish follows the style used across TUDOR manufacture calibres, with an openworked tungsten monobloc rotor featuring satin-brushed and sand-blasted surfaces, while the bridges and mainplate combine sand-blasted, polished, and laser-decorated finishes. The architecture is built around robustness and rate stability, with the balance construction and silicon hairspring forming the main technical features of the calibre. The stated running tolerance is -2/+4 seconds per day on the fully assembled watch.
