Zenith Defy Skyline Skeleton Black Ceramic / Champagne Ref. 49.9300.3620/07.I001

The Zenith Defy Skyline Skeleton Black Ceramic / Champagne 49.9300.3620/07.I001 has a 41 mm ceramic case, and is water resistant to 100 metres.

The Zenith Defy Skyline Skeleton presents a contemporary evolution of the Defy Skyline by introducing a fully skeletonised movement finished in golden tones, marking the key distinction within this iteration of the collection. While retaining the angular case architecture and integrated-bracelet format established by the modern Defy Skyline line, this version places particular emphasis on material contrast and mechanical visibility. The model was introduced in 2023 under reference 49.9300.3620/07.I001. The stainless-steel case measures 41 mm in diameter and features the sharply faceted geometry characteristic of the Defy Skyline family. Its octagonal mid-case is paired with a twelve-sided bezel, both executed with alternating brushed and polished surfaces that underline the architectural design language. The integrated bracelet continues this interplay of finishes and is equipped with a quick-change system that allows tool-free strap replacement. Water resistance is rated to 100 metres. The skeletonised dial reveals the movement architecture through a star-shaped bridge structure, directly referencing Zenith’s emblem. In this execution, the movement components are finished in a warm golden tone, creating a pronounced visual contrast against the steel case and darker dial elements. The openworked construction exposes the gear train and regulating organ, while faceted hour markers are mounted on a fixed outer chapter ring and filled with Super-LumiNova for legibility. The hands follow the same faceted design and luminous treatment. No date display is present, preserving symmetry and visual clarity. The watch is powered by the automatic El Primero 3620 SK manufacture calibre. Operating at a frequency of 5 Hz, or 36,000 vibrations per hour, the movement incorporates a silicon escape wheel and lever to enhance efficiency and resistance to magnetic fields. It delivers a power reserve of approximately 55 hours via a bidirectional winding system. A distinctive technical feature is the 1/10-of-a-second indicator, driven directly by the escapement and completing one full rotation every ten seconds, visually expressing the movement’s high-frequency construction. The calibre is visible from both the dial side and through the sapphire crystal caseback. The openworked oscillating weight echoes the star motif and is finished to match the movement’s golden-toned architecture. Overall finishing remains deliberately modern and technical, with brushed surfaces and defined structural elements emphasising function and contrast rather than decorative ornamentation.
