The Zenith DEFY Extreme Ultraviolet 97.9100.9004/80.I209 was introduced in 2026 as a violet-accented version of the DEFY Extreme. The model revisits the color and material language first used for the DEFY 21 Ultraviolet in 2020, now applied to the larger and more angular DEFY Extreme case. This reference has a 45 mm microblasted titanium case measuring 15.4 mm thick, with a lug-to-lug length of 51 mm. It is fitted with a screw-down crown, an interchangeable strap system, and is water-resistant to 20 ATM. The dial is made of violet-tinted sapphire, with matching violet sub-dials and an openworked construction that reveals parts of the movement architecture beneath. Time is indicated by central hour and minute hands, with small seconds at 9 o’clock. The 1/100th-of-a-second chronograph uses a central chronograph hand that completes one rotation every second, with a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, a 60-second counter at 6 o’clock, and a chronograph power-reserve indication at 12 o’clock. The rhodium-plated faceted hands and hour markers are coated with Super-LumiNova SLN C1. Inside is the Zenith El Primero 9004, an automatic chronograph movement with two independent escapements. The timekeeping escapement runs at 36,000 vibrations per hour, while the chronograph escapement runs at 360,000 vibrations per hour to enable the 1/100th-of-a-second chronograph display. The movement is certified as a chronometer and provides a power reserve of 50 hours. A violet Zenith star-shaped oscillating weight is visible through the sapphire crystal case back. The watch is supplied on a violet rubber strap with a folding clasp. A microblasted titanium bracelet and a black Velcro strap are also included.
