Royal Day-Date 40 Stainless Steel / Silver
Ref. M2840D1A0-0004
The Tudor Royal M2840D1A0-0004 debuted in 2026 as part of the 2026 revision of the Royal collection, a line defined by its integrated bracelet construction, notched bezel, and dress-sport character. This reference is the 40mm stainless steel version with silver dial, combining the largest case size in the updated range with the day-date display that distinguishes the 40mm Royal from the smaller models. Its 40mm stainless steel case is finished with alternating polished and satin-brushed surfaces and measures 11.4mm in height. For this generation, the Royal received a redesigned bezel with more sharply defined polished notches, giving the watch a crisper and more angular profile. The end-link and lug architecture was also revised so that the bracelet links do not touch the case directly, a construction detail intended to reduce abrasion over time. Water resistance is rated to 100 metres, with a screw-down crown and sapphire crystal completing the external specification. The silver dial introduces a lighter and more reflective expression within the Royal line, while retaining the same applied stick hour markers and day-date layout used across the 40mm executions. The day display is positioned at 12 o’clock and the date at 3 o’clock, giving the watch a more traditional full-calendar appearance than the time-and-date 36mm versions or the time-only 30mm models. Against the brighter dial surface, the polished applied markers and hands stand out with a more pronounced sense of contrast than on the darker variants. Power comes from the Tudor Manufacture Calibre MT5633, a self-winding mechanical movement with bidirectional rotor system, 26 jewels, and a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. It is regulated to a tolerance of -2/+4 seconds per day on the fully assembled watch and incorporates the broader technical architecture of Tudor’s modern Manufacture calibres, including a variable inertia balance, silicon hairspring, and stop-seconds function for precise setting. The bracelet is the familiar five-link integrated Royal design in stainless steel, with satin-brushed external and central links, polished intermediate links, and a folding clasp with safety catch. As on the rest of the updated Royal line, it plays a central role in the overall identity of the watch, carrying the case profile directly into the bracelet without a break in form. In this silver-dial configuration, that integrated architecture reads in a particularly clean and cohesive way, reinforcing the more formal side of the Royal’s sport-chic design language
