The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Seafarer CBS2016.EB0430 was introduced in 2026 as a modern reinterpretation of the historic Heuer Seafarer sailing chronographs, originally developed in the mid-20th century to assist sailors in tracking tidal cycles. The model builds on the contemporary Carrera glassbox architecture first introduced in 2023, integrating a mechanical tide indicator alongside a traditional chronograph display. The stainless-steel case measures 42 mm in diameter and combines fine brushed and polished surfaces. It features a bezel-free construction and a domed sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective treatment, characteristic of the Carrera glassbox design. Water resistance is rated to 100 metres. The screw-down sapphire caseback is engraved with TAG Heuer’s Victory Wreath and allows a full view of the movement. The champagne opalin dial is organised around three registers. At 3 o’clock is a 30-minute chronograph counter with a lacquered teal and beige azuré finish. At 6 o’clock is a small seconds display for the chronograph, while the 9 o’clock register houses the tide indicator, rendered in teal blue and yellow and divided into quadrants indicating high and low tide. A beige flange surrounds the dial and carries a 60-second and minute scale. Applied hour markers and hands are faceted and plated in 18K 3N yellow gold. The hour and minute hands are filled with teal-blue Super-LumiNova, while the central chronograph seconds hand is also gold-plated and polished. Printed markings include “CARRERA,” “SEAFARER,” and “SWISS,” along with a black TAG Heuer logo. The watch is delivered on a seven-row stainless-steel bracelet inspired by historical “beads of rice” designs, combining brushed and polished links and secured by a folding clasp with double safety push-buttons. An additional beige textile strap, referencing traditional boat rigging and lined in Intrepid Teal, is also supplied.
