The Rolex Day-Date 36 128239-0021, introduced in 2019, represents a contemporary execution of the collection’s classic 36 mm format, pairing precious metal construction with a decorative stone dial. The Oyster case measures 36 mm in diameter and is crafted from 18 ct white gold, using Rolex’s monobloc Oyster architecture with a screw-down case back and screw-down Twinlock winding crown. Water resistance is rated to 100 metres. This reference is distinguished by its pink opal dial, a decorative stone selected by Rolex for its colour and structural characteristics. Each dial is cut from raw stone material and individually selected to meet the brand’s aesthetic standards, resulting in natural variation from one example to the next. The dial is fitted with hour markers in 18 ct gold set with 32 diamonds, while the Roman numerals at 6 and 9 o’clock are executed in 18 ct gold and set with an additional 24 diamonds. The day of the week is displayed in full through an aperture at 12 o’clock, with the date shown at 3 o’clock beneath a Cyclops lens. A fluted bezel in 18 ct white gold frames the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Originally developed as a functional component of the Oyster case construction, the fluted bezel remains a defining visual feature of the Day-Date collection. Powering the watch is the Rolex calibre 3255, a self-winding mechanical movement operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour. The movement incorporates a blue Parachrom hairspring, Paraflex shock absorbers, and a bidirectional Perpetual rotor. It provides an approximate power reserve of 70 hours and supports instantaneous day and date displays with secure rapid-setting, as well as stop-seconds for precise time adjustment. Following casing, the movement is certified as a Superlative Chronometer. The watch is fitted with the President bracelet in 18 ct white gold, composed of semi-circular three-piece links. It is secured by a concealed folding Crownclasp and integrates seamlessly with the case.
