Patek Philippe Calatrava 5077 White Gold / Blue Butterfly Ref. 5077/357G-001
The Patek Philippe Calatrava 5077 White Gold / Blue Butterfly 5077/357G-001 has a 37 mm white gold case, measures 8.3 mm thick, and is water resistant to 30 metres.
The Patek Philippe Calatrava 5077/357G-001 5077/357G-001 debuted in 2026 as a limited series of ten pieces, combining gem-setting with a dial in Grand Feu cloisonné enamel and paillonné enamel. Executed in white gold, the reference depicts a monarch butterfly among Himalayan blue poppies, with the composition built around colour gradation, depth effects, and contrasting light. Its white gold case measures 38 mm in diameter and 8.3 mm in thickness. The watch is humidity- and dust-protected only and fitted with a sapphire crystal case back. The bezel, lugs, and buckle are set with a gradation of 64 baguette-cut sapphires weighing 2.23 carats and 2 baguette-cut diamonds weighing 0.06 carats. The dial depicts Himalayan blue poppies and a monarch butterfly, with the contours of the petals and insect formed in Grand Feu cloisonné enamel using approximately 47 cm of gold wire weighing about 0.22 grams. To render the tonal transitions of the flowers and wings, the enameller worked with a palette of 32 enamel colours, combining transparent, opalescent, opaque, and semi-opaque compositions. Small beads of orange and white enamel were added to the butterfly’s wings, while gold leaf embedded beneath the enamel using the paillonné technique serves to distinguish the butterfly from the darker ground. Each dial required between 20 and 25 firings at temperatures ranging from 780°C to 800°C. Time is indicated by white gold dauphine hands. Inside is calibre 240, Patek Philippe’s ultra-thin self-winding movement. It measures 27.5 mm in diameter and 2.53 mm in thickness, consists of 152 parts, uses 27 jewels, and operates at 21,600 semi-oscillations per hour. The movement is wound by an off-centre 22K gold mini-rotor and provides a minimum power reserve of 48 hours. Its regulating organ comprises a Gyromax balance and Spiromax balance spring, and it bears the Patek Philippe Seal. The watch is fitted with a hand-stitched shiny blue alligator leather strap with square scales, secured by a gem-set white gold buckle.
