The NOMOS Tangente Sport neomatik 42 date marine black 581 is a 42mm automatic sports watch that reworks the Tangente design in a more robust case with a dark dial, increased water resistance, and an integrated steel bracelet. Its stainless steel case measures 42.0mm in diameter, 10.9mm in height, and 52.6mm lug to lug. The construction is secured with six screws and includes a screw-down crown with crown guard. The watch is fitted with a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides and a sapphire crystal case back. Water resistance is rated to 30 atm. The dial is galvanized in marine black and fitted with a large date at 3 o’clock. The hour indexes are executed in light blue Super-LumiNova, while the rhodium-plated hour and minute hands are filled with sand-colored Super-LumiNova. A red seconds hand adds a further contrast, and the dial also bears the “1000 ft” marking in reference to the model’s water resistance. Inside is the NOMOS DUW 6101, an in-house automatic movement measuring 35.2mm in diameter and 3.6mm in height, with 42 jewels and a power reserve of up to 42 hours. It incorporates NOMOS’ date mechanism, with the date ring positioned around the movement, allowing a large date display while keeping the caliber comparatively slim. This reference is fitted on the NOMOS Sport bracelet with a 20mm lug width and a deployant clasp.
