Tangente Gangreserve
Ref. 172
The NOMOS Tangente power reserve 172 is a 35mm hand-wound Tangente with a power-reserve indication, adding one of the brand’s long-running complications to the standard model. Its stainless steel case measures 35.0mm in diameter, 6.6mm in height, and 45.0mm lug to lug. The watch is fitted with sapphire crystal front and back and is water-resistant to 3 atm. The angular lugs and slim profile remain characteristic of Tangente. The dial is galvanized and white silver-plated, with Arabic numerals, minute markers, and a recessed small-seconds register. The power-reserve display adds an additional indication to the dial and shifts the NOMOS logo from its usual position. Tempered blue steel hands complete the layout. Inside is the NOMOS DUW 4301, a hand-wound in-house movement measuring 23.3mm in diameter and 2.8mm in height, with 17 jewels and a power reserve of up to 43 hours. Earlier versions of this reference used the Gamma movement. The power-reserve mechanism is integrated into the mainspring barrel, allowing the watch to remain relatively slim. This reference is fitted on a black Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan strap with an 18mm lug width.
