Tangente Datum Gangreserve

The NOMOS Tangente date power reserve 131 is a 35mm hand-wound Tangente that combines two complications within the brand’s classic case format: a large date and a power-reserve indicator. Within the Tangente line, it stands apart by integrating both displays while preserving the model’s familiar proportions and restrained profile. Its stainless steel case measures 35.0mm in diameter, 6.6mm in height, and 45.0mm lug to lug. The watch is fitted with sapphire crystal front and back and is water-resistant to 5 atm. The angular lugs and slim profile remain characteristic of Tangente. The dial is galvanized and white silver-plated, with Arabic numerals, minute markers, and tempered blue steel hands. The large date is positioned at 6 o’clock, while the power-reserve indicator adds a second complication to the dial and shifts the NOMOS logo away from its usual central position to create a more balanced layout. Inside is the NOMOS DUW 4401, a hand-wound in-house movement measuring 32.1mm in diameter and 2.8mm in height, with 23 jewels and a power reserve of up to 42 hours. It combines NOMOS’ patented large date with the brand’s power-reserve mechanism, with the date ring arranged around the movement and the power-reserve display integrated into the mainspring barrel to keep the watch relatively slim. DUW 4401 also marked the first calibre in which the NOMOS swing system was used. Earlier versions of this reference used the 1TSDPG / NOMOS Delta movement. Before the regular production model, NOMOS also issued a small 2003 test series of Tangente date power reserve watches, limited to 125 pieces, with slight variations in the layout of the power-reserve display and logo before the final serial arrangement was established. This reference is fitted on a black Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan strap with an 18mm lug width.
