Orion 38 Silver / Open Case Back

Reference 379 is the sapphire-back version of the NOMOS Orion 38 Silver, combining the larger 38mm Orion case with a polished silver-plated dial, gold-plated hands, gold-plated hour markers, and the hand-wound Alpha calibre. It follows the same dial and case format as the closed-back version, but with the movement visible through a domed sapphire crystal case back. The stainless steel case measures 38mm in diameter, 7.9mm in height, and 48mm from lug to lug. It has a domed sapphire crystal front and a domed sapphire crystal case back. The Orion case is defined by its rounded, lenticular profile, curved crystal, narrow bezel, and elongated tapered lugs. Water resistance is rated to 3 atm. The polished silver-plated dial is free of numerals and uses faceted hour markers set slightly inward from the minute track. The gold-plated hands and markers add a warmer contrast against the silver dial surface. The small seconds display at 6 o’clock follows the standard hand-wound Orion layout, with central hours and minutes and subsidiary seconds. Power comes from the NOMOS Alpha, a manually wound in-house calibre measuring 10 ½ lignes in diameter and 2.6mm in height. It has 17 jewels and a power reserve of up to 43 hours.
