Orion 33 1989 / Open Case Back

Ref. 326

Reference 326 is the NOMOS Orion 1989, a 32.8mm hand-wound Orion introduced for the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. It uses the smaller Orion case format with a November gray dial, gold-coloured hands, gold-coloured hour markers, and a sapphire crystal case back. The stainless steel case measures 32.8mm in diameter, 7.6mm in height, and 42.3mm from lug to lug. It has a domed sapphire crystal front and a domed sapphire crystal case back. The Orion case is defined by its rounded, lenticular profile, curved crystal, and tapered lugs. Water resistance is rated to 3 atm. The galvanized November gray dial is free of numerals and uses fine gold-coloured hour markers. The gold-coloured hands match the dial markers, while the small seconds display at 6 o’clock follows the standard hand-wound Orion layout. The display consists of central hours and minutes with subsidiary seconds. Power comes from the NOMOS Alpha, a manually wound in-house calibre measuring 10 ½ lignes in diameter and 2.6mm in height. It has 17 jewels and a power reserve of up to 43 hours. The movement is visible through the domed sapphire crystal case back. The watch is supplied on an anthracite vegan velour remborde strap with a 17mm lug width.
