MB&F Horological Machine N°8 HM8 Can-Am White Gold 80.WTL.B

MB&F Horological Machine N°8 HM8 Can-Am White Gold Ref. 80.WTL.B

The MB&F Horological Machine N°8 HM8 Can-Am White Gold 80.WTL.B has a 49 mm titanium case, measures 19 mm thick, and is water resistant to 30 metres.

For the HM8, MB&F found its inspiration in the Canadian-American Challenge Cup -Can-Am-, a racing series that ran from 1966 to 1987, featuring big names like McLaren, Lola, Chaparral, BRM, Shadow and Porsche. The cars ran engines with up to 1.000 horse powe - almost twice the amount found in contemporary F1 cars. The lines of the racing cars are easily recognized in the curvaceous yet angular case of the HM8. In case of the 80.WTL.B, it is done in white gold with titanium 'roll bars'. Time is indicated through a 'prism indicator module', not unlike LED watches of the 1970's from the likes of Girard-Perregaux and others. As such it is somewhat fitting that the base movement of the HM8 is supplied by Girard-Perregaux. While its 'Battle Axe' rotor is reminiscent of the HM3, the reflecting hours and minutes are similar to those found on the HM5 - and five plus three is eight. Dimensions: 49 mm x 51.5 mm x 19 mm.
