Audemars Piguet caliber AP 7122

Calibre 7122 is a selfwinding mechanical movement developed by Audemars Piguet to power a digital jumping hour display paired with a continuous minutes indication. It represents the Manufacture’s first automatic movement conceived specifically for a jumping hour wristwatch. The movement drives an instantaneous jumping hour mechanism, advancing the hour disc precisely at the top of each hour while maintaining uninterrupted minutes indication. The jumping system is integrated into the movement architecture to ensure consistent energy delivery and stable timekeeping during the hour change. Calibre 7122 operates at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and is equipped with an automatic winding system. It offers a power reserve of 52 hours, dimensioned to support the energy demands of the jumping hour complication. The movement measures 29.6 mm in diameter with a thickness of 4 mm and comprises 293 components, including 43 jewels. Its construction was engineered to allow integration into non-round case designs while maintaining mechanical efficiency and compact proportions.
