Ref. 806
The NOMOS Zürich 806 debuted in as the closed-back version of the automatic Zürich designed by Hannes Wettstein. Originally powered by the Epsilon movement, it is now specified with the DUW 5001 calibre, while the water-resistance rating has changed from 30m to the current 5 atm. The reference pairs the 39.8mm stainless steel Zürich case with a white silver-plated dial, applied rhodium-plated indexes, faceted hands, and a stainless steel back. The case measures 39.8mm in diameter, 9.7mm in height, and 49.4mm from lug to lug. It is fixed with six screws and fitted with domed sapphire crystal glass. Its architecture is more sculptural than that of the Tangente or Tangomat, with a slender bezel, inward-curving lugs, a visible separation between lug and bezel, and a tapered case flank leading into the crown. The galvanized white silver-plated dial uses applied rhodium-plated indexes instead of printed markers. The rhodium-plated hands are faceted, giving the display sharper reflective surfaces while keeping the overall layout restrained. Together with the more complex case form, these details place the Zürich in a more formal position within the NOMOS catalogue. Inside is the NOMOS Epsilon, an in-house automatic movement that supersedes the Epsilon calibre used when this reference first appeared. It measures 4.3mm in height, has a diameter of 31.0mm, and offers a power reserve of up to 43 hours. The watch is fitted to a black Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan strap with a 20mm lug width.
