Navitimer B02 Chronograph 41 Cosmonaute Artemis II

Ref. AB02307A1C1P1

The Breitling Navitimer B02 Chronograph 41 Cosmonaute Artemis II (Ref. AB02307A1C1P1) was introduced in 2026 as a limited edition of 450 pieces, celebrating the historic connection between the Navitimer Cosmonaute and space exploration. The model pays tribute both to astronaut Scott Carpenter, who wore a custom 24-hour Navitimer during his 1962 orbital flight aboard Aurora 7 spacecraft, and to the upcoming Artemis II mission, which will carry astronauts around the Moon. The watch retains the essential design language of the Navitimer while introducing a distinctive dial material drawn from outer space. Its 41 mm stainless steel case features the classic bidirectional slide-rule bezel, a defining element of the Navitimer since its introduction in the early 1950s. The bezel enables pilots to perform in-flight calculations, reinforcing the model’s long-standing association with aviation. The dial itself is cut from galaxy-blue meteorite, whose etched surface reveals the natural Widmanstätten pattern formed over millions of years in space. Because of the meteorite’s crystalline structure—composed primarily of iron and nickel—no two dials are identical, making each example unique. In keeping with the Cosmonaute lineage, the watch features a 24-hour display, originally requested by Carpenter to distinguish day from night during orbital flight, where the sun rises and sets roughly every 90 minutes. This configuration gives the Cosmonaute a distinctive character among Navitimer models, pairing its aviation heritage with functionality tailored to space missions. The dial is complemented by three chronograph subdials, a black slide rule scale, and red chronograph accents, including the central chronograph seconds hand. Powering the watch is the Breitling Manufacture Caliber B02, a hand-wound chronograph movement equipped with a column wheel and vertical clutch architecture. Operating at 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and offering a power reserve of approximately 66 hours, the movement is COSC-certified as a chronometer, attesting to its precision. Visible through the sapphire caseback, the movement is accompanied by special engravings referencing “Artemis II” and the individual numbering of the 450-piece limited series, with the mission logo printed on the caseback crystal. The watch is fitted with a blue alligator leather strap secured by a stainless steel folding clasp, harmonizing with the deep blue tones of the meteorite dial. With its combination of aviation instrumentation, space-flight heritage, and extraterrestrial material, the Navitimer B02 Chronograph 41 Cosmonaute Artemis II continues the legacy of a watch originally designed for an astronaut and still closely tied to humanity’s exploration beyond Earth
