The Universal Geneve Polerouter Hardstone UGPO006 debuted in 2026 as part of the Polerouter Signature collection of Universal Genève. The model forms part of the modern revival of the Polerouter line, originally introduced in 1954 and designed by Gérald Genta for Scandinavian Airlines’ pioneering polar flights. This version features a 39mm 18k rose gold case with the characteristic twisted lugs associated with the Polerouter. The dial is crafted from tiger’s eye, a natural stone whose fibrous structure produces a distinctive chatoyant effect. The stone dial is integrated with the crosshair layout typical of the Polerouter and framed by a sunray-finished inner bezel, highlighting the depth and texture of the material. Powering the watch is the Universal Geneve caliber UG-110, a self-winding movement with micro-rotor automatic winding. The Hardstone editions reintroduce the use of stone dials within the Polerouter design language, combining the historic aesthetic codes of the model with materials traditionally associated with decorative watchmaking.
