The Universal Geneve Polerouter Date UGPO001 debuted in 2026 as part of the Polerouter Prêt-à-Porter collection of Universal Genève. The model forms part of the modern revival of the Polerouter line, originally introduced in 1954 and designed by Gérald Genta for Scandinavian Airlines’ pioneering polar flights. This version features a 39mm stainless steel case with the characteristic twisted lugs associated with the Polerouter. The black dial combines sunray satin finishing with circular brushing, creating a dual-finish appearance. A date display at 3 o’clock complements the time display, while the dial further features a crosshair layout and sunray-finished inner bezel, contributing to the layered appearance characteristic of the contemporary Polerouter Prêt-à-Porter models. Powering the watch is the Universal Geneve caliber UG-110, a self-winding movement with micro-rotor automatic winding. The Polerouter Prêt-à-Porter line represents the permanent interpretation of the historic model within the revived collection, preserving the aesthetic codes of the original design while adapting them to contemporary production.
