Annual Calendar Chronograph 5961 Platinum / Blue

The Patek Philippe Ref. 5961P-001 debuted in 2011 and combines a self-winding flyback chronograph with the manufacture’s patented Annual Calendar mechanism. The watch is housed in a 40.5 mm platinum case with a sapphire crystal case back and a diamond set at 6 o’clock. The bezel is set with 36 baguette-cut diamonds. The matte royal blue opaline dial features calendar apertures for the day, date, and month arranged along an arc, requiring only one manual correction per year at the end of February. Chronograph indications are grouped in a large monocounter displaying both 60-minute and 12-hour elapsed times, complemented by a central chronograph seconds hand. Applied white gold hour markers are set with baguette-cut diamonds, paired with white gold leaf-shaped hands with luminescent coating. A power reserve indication is integrated into the dial layout. Powering the watch is the self-winding Caliber CH 28-520 IRM QA 24H. The movement measures 33 mm in diameter and 7.68 mm in thickness and consists of 456 components and 40 jewels. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour and provides a power reserve of approximately 45 to 55 hours. Winding is achieved via a central 21K gold rotor, while regulation is handled by a Gyromax balance with a Spiromax balance spring. The case is water-resistant to 30 meters and paired with a navy blue alligator leather strap secured by a platinum fold-over clasp set with baguette-cut diamonds. The movement is finished and certified according to the Patek Philippe Seal.
