The very first Omega Seamaster was launched in 1948, the same yearLondon hosted the Olympic Games. To commemorate the 2012 Games, OMEGA is launched the Seamaster 1948 Co-Axial "London 2012" Limited Edition. It was introduced a year to the day before the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony in London. It features a stainless steel case; the 'yellow gold' mentioned under case materials refers to the medallion on the back.
