Premier Top Time B01 Tribute to Aston Martin DB5 Stainless Steel
Ref. AB0178121G1X1
The Breitling Top Time B01 Chronograph 41 Tribute to Aston Martin DB5 AB0178121G1X1 was introduced in 2026 as part of a three-reference series created with Aston Martin. The series connects the Aston Martin DB5 with Breitling’s 1960s Top Time chronographs, including the Top Time reference 2002 worn by Sean Connery in Thunderball in 1965. In that film, the watch appeared alongside the DB5 and became the first Q-modified wristwatch in the James Bond series. This stainless steel version is limited to 1,022 pieces and has the silver dial execution closest visually to the original Top Time reference 2002. The case measures 41 mm in diameter, 13.80 mm thick, and 47.90 mm lug-to-lug. It is made of stainless steel and uses a cushion-shaped profile with grooved corners and mushroom-style pushers, details drawn from Breitling’s 1960s chronograph design language. The watch is fitted with a fixed bezel, a cambered sapphire crystal glare-proofed on both sides, a screwed sapphire crystal case back, and a non-screw-locked crown with two gaskets. Water resistance is rated to 10 bar, or 100 meters. The sunray-brushed silver dial is paired with black chronograph subdials, each with concentric textured finishing and thin polished rhodium-coated rings. The subdials use a rounded-square “squircle” shape that refers to classic car dashboard gauges. A wooden rehaut ring draws on the steering wheel and interior trim of the Aston Martin DB5. Time is indicated by central hour and minute hands, with running seconds and a chronograph display for central seconds and 30 elapsed minutes. The hands and external minute track are treated with Super-LumiNova. Inside is the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, a COSC-certified self-winding chronograph movement with a column wheel and vertical clutch. It measures 30 mm in diameter and 7.2 mm thick, consists of 284 components, runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour, and provides a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. The movement uses bidirectional winding with a ball-bearing rotor and is visible through the sapphire crystal case back. This version has a rhodium-plated Aston Martin-engraved rotor. The watch is fitted with a brown calfskin leather strap with beige lining and a folding clasp.
